If you're on this website, you're most likely a parent like me who cares about what media is shown in your home. This movie is dark, violent, and horrifying. We made the mistake of not looking it up on here before renting.
Even the reviews from kids on here claim it's great. I'm disgusted thinking any kid of any age has seen this movie. Just goes to show how desensitized our society is becoming. This movie is full of very graphic violence. You keep thinking it's going to resolve itself or get better, but it gets worse and worse I felt disgusting inside after watching this movie. Please read the parent reviews on here, not the kids. Please don't watch this movie. Adult Written by moviemaker July 20, Yawnicle This.
I saw it with my grandparents on a Saturday, and was so disappointed, I left the theater by the time an hour had passed. What is this truckload of teen drinking, violence, adolescent sex, and coarse language about? One day, for no particular reason, young Andrew decides to "Film everything.
They all have telekinesis, the cousin has super strength, and they can all fly. Andrew is the most powerful of the three, so when he starts using his powers for evil, the other two must stop him. The story had so much potential, but that potential was wasted by horrible acting, mediocre special effects, and unnecessary scenes in which the boys talk about sex. The boys are highly immature, and Andrew has NO common sense whatsoever.
There is a party scene in which teens smoke, suggestively dance, and drink. The teens cuss frequently. The boys are deep down in the gutter. The film is found-footage style, so from the P.
V of Andrew's camera, we see close-ups of girls' bottoms and cleavage. We see child abuse from Andrew's drunken dad. We see Andrew later destroying buildings, cars, and killing people. Overall, it's a pointless movie that I didn't even bother to see the end of. Don't waste your money. Then they discover they can move LEGO pieces using only their minds. This is called telekinesis. Matt looks it up in the dictionary. Andrew Dane DeHaan is a shy and unpopular high school student with a dying mother and a mean-tempered drunk for a father. Matt Alex Russell is his cousin and only friend, a smart kid who quotes Plato as they descend into the hole. Steve Michael B. Jordan is cheerful, handsome and running for class president — all the things Andrew isn't.
Whatever it is that happened to them in the hole gives them something overwhelming in common: They have new, challenging superpowers. Discovering this, they act like a bunch of kids. Hell, they are a bunch of kids, and the screenplay by Max Landis does a convincing job of making them realistic teenagers. Elena Velikorechin Explainer. Can a 6 year old watch a PG movie?
